We stopped overnight on our way elsewhere. No full hookup sites were available, so we were assigned a water-and-electric-only site, and used the dump station on our way out in the morning. The park is directly next to I70, so listened to 18-wheelers all night long. The park is acceptable for an overnight, but wouldn't be our choice for a stay of any length.
Convenient "overnight" stop on I-35. For that usage I'd rate it a 9. As a "destination", I'd give it a lower grade. Restaurant buffet in the casino is above average for the type, but not "five star".
This is your basic "place to park the rig" type of park. Generous sized sites. No facilities other than hookups. Brand new this year (2007), trees planted and sod laid, but will take a season or two to 'look nice'. Minimum stay 3 nights=$99.00.
This park is a great spot to "overnight" on your way somewhere else. Level concrete pads, clean surroundings, all "pull through" off good paved roads. Cost is reasonable, and access to I-35 is painless. Casino (walking distance, or courtesy shuttle if desired) has a good buffet-style restaurant. However, if you're looking for a "destination" style park, this isn't it, unless you're into casino style gambling.
This is an excellent 'overnight' spot when travelling on I35. Good level concrete pads, easy interior access and easy access to the interstate highway. Casino 'buffet' style restaraunt is a short walk from your rig.
This is an excellent "get off the road for the night" park(ing lot) with full hookups (but not much else in the way of facilities). Easy access from the interstate, large pullthrough sites.
We 'overnighted' twice in this park on our recent SW trip (January and April). The park is ideally located to either I-35 or I-44 for travelers moving through the area. This is a new park, very modern and exceptionally well designed, carved out of a woodland area with mature trees surrounding every site. Full concrete pads, about 2/3rds are 'pull-through' sites with easy access. The 'backin' sites on the perimeter are angled well to the interior roads giving good backing approaches. The location, about a block off I44 and a quarter mile off I35 made us apprehensive about traffic noise (we're both 'fussy' sleepers) but the combination of tree-surrounded sites and other landscaping practices mitigated the noise nicely and we actually had to 'pay attention' to notice the traffic. While our two visits were 'transient overnight', I'd also select this park for a longer term visit to the OKC area.
This is an excellent 'snowbird' RV resort with a whole host of activities and facilities. Hiking club, exercise room, pool, jacuzzi, tennis, woodworking shop, softball, ballroom, card rooms, well stocked library, spotless showers/bathrooms, frequent entertainment, dances, 'meal' functions, post office, wifi, helpful and pleasant staff. Location is away from the congestion of the city, but on the four-lane with easy access to anywhere you'd like to travel.
Excellent "destination" park with numerous amenities and excellent modern facilities (pool, ballroom, library, laundry, card rooms, computer room, woodworking shop, etc.). Sites are huge, with large concrete patios. Many planned activities, special interest clubs (hiking, softball, golf, crafts, etc.). Away from the bustle of Phoenix/Mesa/Apache Junction, but on the 4-lane with nearby shopping and restaurants. Scenic setting in the shadow of the Superstition mountains. Only reason I didn't give a "10" is lack of shade, but hey, this is the Sonoran desert! (The $17.00 rate reflects a 3-month stay --- I don't know what the 'per day' rate is for short term stays.)
Close to the interstate, with a Camping World and an RV repair facility on premise. Clean, well maintained, good sized sites, a nice sit-down restaurant, and helpful/pleasant staff. Not my choice as a "destination" but a great place for a shorter stopover.
Pulling into this place 'down in the holler' (once you turn in, you're committed!) I suddenly thought I heard the Dueling Banjos theme! Difficult approach road, difficult interior loop road, ragged sites (had to run my sewer under the trailer to the adjacent site!), buy hey, the staff was friendly.
If you can find a nicer KOA anywhere, I'll be shocked. This is a standout park, well designed, immaculately maintained, with congenial management, and top notch in every respect.
